Chantal Akerman: Moving through Time and Space

MIT List Visual Arts Center
May 2-July 6, 2008

The MIT List Visual Arts Center, along with the Blaffer Gallery at the University of Houston, The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, and Miami Art Central/Miami Art Museum, is organizing Chantal Akerman: Moving through Time and Space. Brussels-born Akerman is acknowledged as one of the most important filmmakers in the world, but her museum installations are not as well known. This first major museum exhibition in the United States will feature all five of her multi-media video installations: her "documentary series" comprised of D'Est (From the East), Sud, >From the Other Side, La Bas, and a new work commissioned especially for the exhibition. A 120-page illustrated catalogue will accompany the exhibition.

The List Visual Arts Center is located at:
20 Ames Street (Building E15, Atrium level)
Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139
Tel: 617-253-4680

The Society of Friends of Belgium in America operates under the auspices of
the Ambassador of Belgium to the United States and the Consul General of Belgium in New York.
