For the past year, Gene Debartolo has been producing delicate Chinese-ink drawings
of spiders, bats, birds (a pelican, eagle, sparrows), dragonflies, frogs, ants, mosquitoes, mice, flies, and bugs. The artist tends to focus on creatures
disparaged as vermin.
He produces his works while communicating with nature in
the garden of Charles van Campenhout where he has established his studio.
