About the Artist

Marc VAN CAUWENBERGH born in Ninove, Belgium. He studied Printmaking at H.I.B.K. St-Lucas in Ghent then went on to follow Ceramic sculpture at the Koninklijke Akademie Beeldende Kunsten in Ghent. In 1987, Marc van Cauwenbergh received the Hays Grant Fulbright which enabled him to study MFA painting at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. In 1989 he received a grant from the Flemish Community.

He has participated in a variety of solo and group exhibitions between Belgium and the United States. His public collections are on display at the Leslie-Lohman Gay Art Foundation (New York), Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, NY), EBES (Ghent, Belgium), H.I.B.K St-Lucas (Ghent). Marc van Cauwenbergh currently resides and works in his studio in New York.
