the Artist
Nicole CALLEBAUT is a Belgian born on May 21, 1935 in Ghent, Belgium. She lives between New York and Brussels but is active in Amsterdam and Loulé in
Portugal. She studied at The Art Students League of New York (1985-1986), at
the École des Arts d’Ixelles, Brussels (1980), the Akademie voor
Schone Kunsten, Ghent, Belgium (1955-1958) and at the École Nationale
Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris in Paris(1954).
Student
of Leo Manso, Knox Martin and Cécile Massart, she does drawings
and prints, as well as paintings. Her artistic roles include collagist, painter,
paper but she is also an art educator, a reporter and writer. She received
the Merit Scholarship from The Art Students League of New York (1985) and she
was a founding member of Missing Ink, Brussels, Belgium (1983).
